TheEuropean Cinema Workshops (ACE) will be held this year from Dec 6-12 inRoubaix/Tourcoing in the Nord Pas-de-Calais region of France.

Theworkshops are an opportunity for European producers to gather with European andUS professionals in order to examine financing, co-production and distributionpotential for, in this year's case, a total of 17 projects. Producers from Germany, France, Hungary, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the UK, Sweden and Switzerland will assemble to discuss their projects withspecific talks given on different European financing mechanisms, internationalsales and a look at case studies conducted by ACE members.

ProducerMartin Pope of the UK's Magic Light Pictures will premiere his latest filmSparkle from directors Neil Hunterand Tom Hunsinger, while France's Nicolas Blanc of Agat Films & Cie will discussthe genesis and production of Amos Gitai's FreeZone. Belgian producer Jacques-Henri Bronckart of Versus Productions willalso be on hand to discuss Cages, afilm by Olivier Masset-Depasse.

TheNord Pas-de-Calais region along with the Belgian fund Wallimage will presenttheir financing policies as well as available locations.

ACEwas founded in 1993 by a group of European producers including David Puttnam and Rene Cleitman. Following Cleitman's death in2004, Philippe Carcassonne took over his role on the board of directors whichis overseen by the Irish Film Board's Simon Perry. With 200 members from 22countries, ACE is sponsored by France's CNC, the MEDIAPlus Programme, the UK's Skillset and Film Council and UIP among others.
