Director and veteran stuntman Jesse V Johnson will next direct the 3D action thriller Bratva starring Dominique Vandenberg and Yekaterina Rednikova.

Additional roles will be announced shortly on the action tale about a prisoner in secure isolation away from the violent organisation for whom he once served as bodyguard.

A blood oath sworn 20 years earlier means he must escape, pitting him against the ruthless assassins of the Bratva: the brotherhood.

Johnson wrote the script and is also producing with Kevin Lynch and Jeremy Alter of MMJ Productions. Attorney Elsa Ramo is representing worldwide rights and will be hosting two screenings of a 15-minute, 3D teaser for select buyers at next week’s AFM at the AMC Criterion on November 8.

Tiffany Boyle is liaising with buyers on the project.

“Bratva 3Dis a throwback to the visceral action and martial arts films of the 90s,” Johnson said. “Truthfully, no-one has been able to perfectly capture this type of action in 3D because it is so difficult.

“On Bratva, we worked for weeks coming up with the right work flow and found the correct formula to properly capture the kinetic action featured in the film. The viewing experience is like no other and we look forward to showing audiences the amazing fight choreography in 3D.”

Johnson recently directed TheButcherstarring Eric Roberts and is represented by Nima Maleki at management firm Faction M.
