Alan Zhang, the film-maker and CEO and founder of Beijing-based Red Maiden Entertainment, has opened the company's Los Angeles offices in Beverly Hills.

The move coincides with the theatrical release in China of Zhang's directorial debut Waiting In Beijing, a romance that will open in the US on December 12 through Rocky Mountain Pictures.

Christine Antonovich will serve as Red Maiden Entertainment's CFO and Cathy Lee is managing director.

The company's 2009 production slate includes the dark English-language romantic comedy Crazy In Debt, the Chinese-language post-9/11 psychodrama Beyond The Agony, the Chinese-language thriller Revenge and the drama Good Luck.

Waiting In Beijing shot on location in Beijing and Paris and is a RedMaiden Entertainment and Tiandihetai Film co-production in association with China Film Group.
