Ralph Alexander has been promoted to senior executive vice president of international operations and distribution at Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Alexander will oversee 23 managing directors as well as the general
operational and administrative issues of the territory offices. He
will also work on a wide range of issues arising out of the territory
offices as well as from the company's licensees and its joint venture
partners BVI and Warner Bros.

Alexander began his international career as a management trainee in
Chile for United Artists and worked as East Africa representative for
Columbia Pictures, BVI, UIP and Warner Bros, based in Nairobi.

He joined Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International - the
predecessor to Sony Pictures Releasing International - in 1987 as
managing director for the UK and a year later was appointed director
of sales and distribution, relocating to the home office.

He was promoted to vice-president in 1990 and was made senior
vice-president of sales and distribution in 1995. Since 1999 he has
served as executive vice-president of international distribution.

'For more than 20 years, Ralph has served all over the world on behalf
of SPRI,' Sony Pictures Releasing International president Mark Zucker
said. 'His intimate knowledge of our global operations and his depth
of experience with our managers all over the world make him uniquely
qualified to take on this dynamic role. We are proud to recognise his
tenure and importance to our global operations with this well deserved
promotion.'
