Alliance Atlantis haspicked up world rights on Virgina's Run from Knightscove Entertainment. Directed by Peter Markle, the family-oriented equestrian drama stars Gabriel Byrne and Joanne Whalley.

The screenplay is by Valarie Trapp, David Henry Lucas and Markle. It is being produced by Knightscove Entertainment in association with Wardenclyffe Entertainment and Holedigger Films, with Knightscove's Leif Bristow and Robert Schwartz are producing.

Currently shooting inNova Scotia, the story follows a young rider pursuing her dream of winning theMemorial Day Endurance Race. In a statement Bristow said: "Virginia has the intensity of The Karate Kid and Iron Will and will have audiences cheering at the end."

Alliance Atlantis hasseveral projects in production including Owning Mahowny starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Minnie Driver andJohn Hurt and directed by Richard Kwietniowski; Neil Jordan's Double Down, currently shooting in France, with Nick Nolte; and Lynne Ramsay's Morvern Callar starring Samantha Morton.
