Alliance Atlantis hasacquired international rights to writer-director Robert Lepage's Far Side ofthe Moon.

Adapted from Lepage'seponymous stage play, and starring Lepage in two roles, as competitive twinbrothers, the film explores the notion of duality against the backdrop of theUS-Soviet space race.

The film makes its world premiere at the TorontoInternational Film Festival.

The film, acquired by Charlotte Mickie, managing director, International MotionPicture Sales, Alliance Atlantis Entertainment Group, is one of several titlesthe company is shopping at the event, including Tom McCarthy's Sundanceprize-winner The Station Agent;Vikram Jayanti's supercomputer chess documentary Game Over: Kasparov and theMachine; and Allan Mindel's MilwaukeeMinnesota.

Shot in HD digital, FarSide of the Moon is a MediaPrincipia and FCL Films production. Executive producers are Daniel Langlois andRobert Lepage and producers are Bob Krupinski and Mario St-Laurent.

AllianceAtlantis' Odeon Films will release the film in English Canada and AllianceAtlantis Vivafilm will release the film in French Canada.
