Nanette Burstein's Sundance hit American Teen will get its first major screening outside Park City when it plays at the Miami International Film Festival on Mar 8.

Paramount Vantage paid approximately $1m for worldwide rights excluding the UK to the story of four high school students who endure the ups and downs of adolescent life before they head off to college.

Particia Riggen's Under The Same Moon will open the festival on Feb 28 and the 163-strong line-up includes US premieres of Rayda Jacobs' Confessions Of A Gambler and Tamar Vab Der Dop's Blind.

Ibero-American Cinema Competition entries include Ernesto Contreras' Blue Eyelids and Carlos Moreno's Dog Eat Dog.
