Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu's Amores Perros took the Grand Prize of the Flemish Community at the 27th Flanders International Film Festival in Ghent.

Other prize winners included Lukas Moodysson's Together, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Faithless. A big local winner was Pleure Pas Germaine, directed by Alain de Halleux, which took three awards.

The competition, which focuses on the impact of music on film, was presided over by an international jury including producers Mace Neufeld and Sally Hibbin, composers Elia Cmiral and Henny Vrienten and writer-director Christopher Hampton.

Guests attending the festival included Morgan Freeman, who received the Joseph Plateau Lifetime Achievement Award. Hans Zimmer attended to receive the Joseph Plateau Award for Excellence in Music.

Other highlights at this year's edition included Titus and Chicken Run, which closed the festival. In all, the event registered more than 90,000 admissions, a slight increase on last year.
