Andy Given, formerly of Universal Pictures and The Shooting Gallery, has joined Intermedia in the newly created position of president, physical production.

Reporting to president of worldwide production Basil Iwanyk, Given is responsible for all aspects of physical production for Intermedia's myriad projects from development through post -production. Current Intermedia productions include Director John McTiernan's Basic and Renny Harlin's Mindhunters.

Immediately prior to joining Intermedia, he was co-producer on Intermedia/Outlaw's film National Security to be distributed by Columbia. He also supervised the Academy Award nominated You Can Count on Me, as well as the Courtney Love vehicle Julie Johnson, during his tenure as president of production for The Shooting Gallery.

Throughout his near decade at Universal, where he was most recently senior vice president of physical production, Given supervised films including The Best Man, Bowfinger, Nutty Professor, Liar Liar, Happy Gilmore, Dante's Peak, and the Beethoven series. Prior to Universal, Given freelanced as a unit production manager on projects such as I'm Gonna Git U Sucka, Nightbreed, C-TV, and Under the Boardwalk. He is an adjunct professor of production at USC's Peter Stark Producing Program and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
