Arthouse Films has acquired worldwide rights to Neil Ortenberg and Daniel O'Connor's documentary Obscene following its world premiere at Toronto.

Obscene chronicles the life of American publisher Barney Rosset who fought censorship and worked with writers such as Henry Miller, William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, and Che Guevera, among others.

David Koh and Lilly Bright negotiated on behalf of Arthouse Films and Curiously Bright Entertainment with Submarine's Josh Braun on behalf of the film-makers. Craig Emanuel of Loeb and Loeb provided legal representation for the film-makers.

Arthouse plans a 2008 theatrical release followed by DVD roll-out.
