Officials will make available a ‘reminder list’ of original score submissions along with a nominations ballot to all members of the music branch.

Members will vote in the order of their preference for a maximum of five scores. The five submissions with the highest number of votes will become nominations.

To be eligible, the original score must be “a substantial body of music that serves as original dramatic underscoring, and must be written specifically for the motion picture by the submitting composer.”

Scores are rendered ineligible if they are “diluted by the use of tracked themes or other preexisting music, diminished in impact by the predominant use of songs, or assembled from the music of more than one composer”.

For the full list of score submissions visit the official website. The nominations will be announced on Jan 10 and the 85th Annual Academy Awards will take place on Feb 24.
