Douglas Hart’s film, starring Peter Mullan, won the Short Film Award at the 14th Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival.
The awards for the 14th Rushes Soho Shorts Festival have now been announced, with 199 films from 22 different countries having screened in competition.
The winner of the Short Film Award was British film Long Distance Information, directed by Douglas Hart and produced by Ohna Falby and HSI London. The film, which was up for the Film London Best of Boroughs Award last year as well as screening in short film festivals including Bristol Encounters, stars Peter Mullan, Alan Tripney and Caroline Paterson.
The Animation Award went to La Dètente, which comes from director/producer pair Pierre Ducos and Bertrand Bey. Afarin Eghbal’s BAFTA-nominated Abuelas won the Documentary Award. It was produced by Kasia Malipan and the National Film & Television School.
The International Award was won by Canadian film Trotteur, directed by Arnaud Brisebois and Francis Leclerc and produced by Anton Cozzolino and Cirrus. US film Peter at the End, directed by Russ Lamoureux won the Long Form Award.
Jake Lushington won the Newcomer Award for his film The North London Book of the Dead, which was produced by Shelley Rubenstein and Pinata Productions. The Audience Award wenrt to British production 82, directed by Calum Macdiarmid and produced by Alexei Slater, Jessica Turner and Turn the Slate Prod. Ltd.
The Pushing Boundaries Award was taken by Good Books – Metamorphasis, which comes from director/producer Buck. Joseph Mann’s Keaton Henson - Small Hands won the Music Video Award, and was produced by Tamsin Glasson, James Bretton and Blinkink.
The festival took place in London over 10 days from July 10-20.
