The French star of Rust And Bone (pictured) will collect the honour at the 22nd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards on Nov 26.

Cotillard joins previously announced tribute honourees Matt Damon, David O Russell and Jeff Skoll.

Cotillard won the 2008 lead actress Academy Award for La Vie En Rose and her credits include Inception, Midnight In Paris and James Gray’s upcoming Ellis Island drama.
