The 3D technology provider’s CEO and co-founder Michael V Lewis and president and co-founder Joshua Greer will collect the honour at the 22nd Annual PGA awards ceremony on January 22 in Beverly Hills.

The Vanguard Award recognises achievements in new media and technology. Previous recipients include George Lucas, James Cameron, John Lasseter, MySpace CEO and co-founder Chris DeWolfe and president and co-founder Tom Anderson, YouTube founders Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Will Wright as well as the 2010 recipient Joss Whedon.

“A global leader in the 3D space, RealD has not only delivered the most innovative technologies but also has made a commitment to provide quality entertainment for a premium viewing experience,” Paula Wagner, chair of the 2011 PGA awards, said. “We are proud to honour the RealD team as they truly exemplify the spirit of the Vanguard Award.”
