The Toronto Film Critics Association announced at its awards night on Tuesday [8] that Polley’s Stories We Tell had received the Rogers Best Canadian Film Award.

The National Film Board Of Canada documentary unearths myth and memory to tell the truth about a family of storytellers. On Dec 16 the TFCA announced Stories We Tell as the recipient of its Allan King Documentary Award.

Anita Lee produced Stories We Tell and Mongrel Media distributed in Canada. Silva Basmajian served as executive producer.

The film will screen in Sundance on Jan 18 and is the first documentary to be selected for the Park City event’s Spotlight category.

Roadside Assistance will release in the US later this year.
