YouTube and Emirates in partnership with Scott Free Productions and the Venice Film Festival have announced [Aug 1] the Your Film Festival finalists to attend the Venice Film Festival and vie for a $500,000 prize. 

More than three million YouTube users shared and voted for the ten finallists. Scott Free narrowed down the candidates from the initial 15,000 submissions on YouTube to 50 semi-finalists.

Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender are a part of the jury that will select the grand prizewinner after the films are screened at the festival on Sept 2.

The winner will use the prize money to create original online content and Scott Free and Fassbender will serve as executive producers.

The ten finalists are:

Joey Ciccoline and Sean Wilson with 88:88, USA;
Damien Power with Bat Eyes, Australia;
Fernando Grostein Andrade and Fernanda Fernandes with Cine Rincao, Brazil;
Kevin Slack with The Drought, USA;
Diego Pino Zamora with El General, Bolivia;
David Victori Blaya with The Guild, Spain;
Bernardo Nascimento with North Atlantic, UK;
Niam Itani with Super.Full., Lebanon;
Adrian Powers with Scruples, Australia; and
Ramy El-Gabry with This Time, Egypt.
