WGA rules create glaring omissions in nominees roster

Usual suspects The Social Network, Black Swan, 127 Hours, Inception, The Fighter (pictured), The Town are in the mix in the original and adapted categories alongside two awards season outsiders that have won admirers – Nicole Holofcener for Please Give and John Requa and Glenn Ficarra for I Love You Phillip Morris.

However the WGA’s insistence that it will only acknowledge productions that are Guild signatories or that filmed under agreement with an international WGA affiliate means that films like The King’s Speech, Another Year and Blue Valentine did not make the cut.
