Baltasar Kormákur’s The Deep took a big haul of 11 Icelandic Film and Television Awards (Eddas) at the awards ceremony in Reykjavik on Saturday.

The Deep won the awards for Best Film, Cinematography, Editing, Director, Actor (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), Special Effects, Costume, Set, Makeup, Sound and Music.

Black’s Game (Svartur á leik), directed by Óskar Thór Axelsson, won for Script (the director), Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

The award for Best Documentary went to Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir’s A Boy Like Her – A Personal Story About an Unavoidable Journey and the short film prize went to Elfar Adalsteins’ Sailcloth.

Icelandic director Kristín Jóhannesdóttir received an Honorary Edda.
