Feo Aladag’s  When We leave (Die Fremde) from Germany has scooped the best film award at the 23rd Panorama of European Cinema in Athens.

The award was presented by the chairman of the international jury, Munich Film Festival head Andreas Strohl.

French director Pascal Rabate’s sophomore effort Small Streamlets (Les petits ruisseaux) received the Fipresci jury award.

The audience prize went to the Italian film The Man Who Will Come(L’uomo Che Verra) by Giorgio Diritti.

Jerzy Skolimowski and Otar Iosseliani received honorary awards during the closing gala prior to the screening of Venice Golden Lion Somewhere by Sofia Coppola.
