Bac Films has acquired JohnCameron Mitchell's Shortbus forFrench distribution. The deal was announced this week by Fortissimo Films.

Shortbus is the long-awaited follow up to Mitchell'scritically acclaimed 2001 hit Hedwig And The Angry Inch. The film revolves around the lives of threesexually diverse characters, each facing different challenges, who meet upevery week in a Brooklyn salon known as Shortbus.

The cast includes Sook-YinLee, Paul Dawson, Lindsay Beamish, PJ DeBoy, Raphael Barker, Jay Brannan andPeter Stickles.

Currently inpost-production, film is produced by Howard Gertler and Tim Perell with PamelaHirsch co-producing.

Bac president Jean Labadienegotiated the deal with Fortissimo Films' Nicole Mackey.

In a press release, Labadiesaid: "Every time, Fortissimo brings more and more original films totheworld and this one just couldn't be resisted!" Fortissimo'sNicole Mackey added: "It is a joy to be working with Jean again. I know he willlaunch this film in France with all the fanfare it deserves."
