Political events have caused the postponement of the BAFTA LA Britannia Awards until April 12.

The awards, where George Lucas is to receive the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, and HBO Original Programming the Britannia Award for Excellence in Television, were scheduled for Nov 10.

BAFTA LA Chairman Gary Dartnall said: "We decided to postpone the event as we felt the timing, in light of recent events, would be more fitting to celebrate these honours early next year. Our honourees completely agree with our decision and support this change of date."
