Ballast director Lance Hammer won the John Schlesinger Award for a first time film-maker as the 10th Provincetown Film Festival came to a close at the weekend.

Another Sundance premiere, Courtney Hunt's Frozen River, won the audience award for best feature while Irena Salina's FLOW: For Love Of Water took the documentary prize. Whitney Peters' Who I Am won for best short.

The student film competition grand jury award went to Muhammad Ali Hasan's Rabia and a special jury prize was awarded to Jeff M Giordano's The Sheriff.

Quentin Tarantino received the Filmmaker On The Edge Award, Gael Garcia Bernal collected The Excellence In Acting Award and Jane Lynch received the Faith Hubley Memorial Award.
