The Grierson Trust has announced its final nominations for the British Documentary Awards.

Four titles are nominated for Best Cinema Documentary:

The End of the Line (Rupert Murray for Arcane Pictures, Calm Productions, Dartmouth Films)

Enemies of the People (Rob Lemkin, Thet Sambath for Old Street Films)

Exit Through the Gift Shop (Banksy for Paranoid Pictures Film Company)

Mugabe and the White African (Lucy Bailey, Andrew Thompson for Arturi Films)

Exit Through The Gift Shop, directed by controversial graffiti artist Banksy, was also nominated in the Most Entertaining Documentary category.

Andrew Lang’s Sheffield and Rome winning boxing doc Sons Of Cuba was among the four nominees for The Jonathan Gili Award For Best Newcomer.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at BFI on Nov 2.

Established in 1972 the Grierson Awards commemorate the pioneering Scottish documentary filmmaker John Grierson and are open to documentaries made anywhere in the world.
