Production will begin this month on Rogue Pictures' horror remakeThe Hitcher afterZachary Knighton became the last main cast member to sign on.

Knighton joins Sean Bean and Sophia Bush in Michael Bay'sPlatinum Dunes' remake of the 1986 horror classic. Dave Meyers is directing.

Bay and Platinum Dunes' Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producingfrom a screenplay by Jake Wade Wall and Eric Bernt. Rogue senior vice presidentof production Adrienne Biddle is overseeing the project for companyco-presidents Andrew Karpen and Andrew Rona.

Rogue will release The Hitcher in 2007 and Focus Features Internationalis handling overseas sales.

The Hitcher follows two traveling college students (Knighton and Bush) whoare tormented by a mysterious hitchhiker, played by Bean.

Platinum Dunespreviously produced the hit remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (which was also handled overseas by FocusFeatures International) and The Amityville Horror.
