Joshua A. Berger has been promoted to President & Managing Director, Warner Bros. Entertainment United Kingdom and Ireland.

Berger has been with Warner for 17 years, most recently serving as Executive Vice President & Managing Director, WBEUK.

He will continue to oversee all of the company's business in the UK, including theatrical production and distribution, television production and distribution, home video, digital distribution, new and emerging media, interactive games and consumer products.

Berger will continue to be based in London and will continue to report through Richard Fox, Executive Vice President, International, to Barry Meyer, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer and Alan Horn, President & Chief Operating Officer.

Berger's time at Warner has seen the successful releases of Harry Potter and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and also the company's move to become the first studio to release films online in the UK.

"Josh is a world-class executive and a real asset to our company, and this promotion is an official recognition of his many, many contributions to Warner Bros," said Meyer. "He's spent his entire career at the studio, and it's really quite fitting that he was our first country manager and helped us to define an organizational structure and refine a business model that is allowing us to maximize our operations and profitability in key international territories."

Berger added: "I am very grateful to Barry, Alan and Richard for not only giving me the chance four years ago to help create a new structure and approach for the company but also for giving me the support and tools to make it effective. I'm extremely fortunate to work with a truly amazing team in London and together we have enjoyed real success and have exciting and innovative plans for the future. With the business ever-changing and ever more challenging, I look forward to continuing and expanding my role for the company that has been my home for the past 17 years."
