The Los Angeles-based company has swooped on sales rights two weeks before the industry descends on the Croisette.

Jeremy Renner (pictured) and Dallas Roberts star in the true story of a salesman and an inventor who hit rock bottom before they strike gold with a discovery. Jeff Balsmeyer directed from a screenplay by producer Mike Cram.

Ehud Bleiberg negotiated the deal on behalf of Bleiberg Entertainment with Stephen Clark of Lichter, Grossman, Nichol, Adler & Feldman on behalf of Cram.

“Jeremy Renner is one of the finest working actors today,” Bleiberg’s head of acquisitions Nicholas Donnermeyer said. “The chemistry between Dallas Roberts and him feels so natural and fun. They create characters you really want to root for, especially when you know it’s all based on real events.”

Renner earned a supporting actor Academy Award nomination earlier this year for The Town and was nominated in 2010 for his lead role in The Hurt Locker. He will be seen later this year in Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol and was recently confrimed as the lead in Universal’s upcoming thriller The Bourne Legacy. He will portrayHawkeye in Marvel Studios’ summer 2012 release The Avengers through Disney.
