Alex Walton and his team have dropped a heavyweight into the Berlin market and will commence international sales on dark comedy Suburbicon from director George Clooney starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore.

Black Bear Pictures has come on board to fully finance the project, which is in pre-production and is based on a screenplay by the Coen Bros, whose Hail, Caesar! starring Clooney will open the Berlinale on February 11.

Suburbicon is the name of a fictitious town where a deadly home invasion sends a seemingly perfect family down the path of blackmail, revenge, and betrayal.

CAA handles US rights.

Joel Silver will produce via his Silver Pictures label alongside Clooney and Grant Heslov under their Smokehouse Pictures, and Teddy Schwarzman for Black Bear.

Bloom and Silver Pictures are in post on Shane Black’s detective thriller The Nice Guys starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. Warner Bros will distribute the film in the US.
