Bob Hoskins has announce he will retire from acting at the age of 69, after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease last autumn.

A statement released by his representative read: “He wishes to thank all the great and brilliant people he has worked with over the years, and all of his fans who have supported him during a wonderful career. Bob is now looking forward to his retirement with his family, and would greatly appreciate that his privacy be respected at this time.”

Hoskins’ most well-known roles include The Long Good Friday, Brazil, Mona Lisa, Twenty Four Seven, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Felicity’s Journey.

He recently appeared in Made In Dagenham and Snow White and the Huntsman.
