Bollywood hit Dil Chahta Hai (pictured) and winners of the 49th National Film Awards Dweepa and Chandni Bar are among the 20 feature films selected from 96 entries to be screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in New Delhi in October 2002.

Meanwhile, Hindi film Lagaan, which was short listed for a Foreign Language Oscar this year, swept the government of India-backed 49th national film awards for 2001 by bagging a total seven awards including those for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment and for its lyrics and music.

Lagaan directed by Ashutosh Gowariker for actor-producer Aamir Khan has also won awards for best music by AR Rehman, male singer Udit Narayan for the song 'Mitwa', audiography by H Sridhar and Nakul Kamte, art direction Nitin Chandrakant Desai, costume design by Oscar awardee Bhanu Athaiya, best lyrics 'Radha Kaise Na Jale'and 'Ghanan Ghanan' by renowned Javed Akhtar, and for choreography by Raju Khan in the song 'Ghanan Ghanan'.

The awards which are backed by the Indian Government and will be given at an official function in Delhi by the President of India Dr. Abdul Kalam later this year.
