Bombo Sports & Entertainment has picked up world sales rights to feature-length documentary Shadow Boxers, which is screening in the Panorama section of the Berlin film festival.

The picture takes an insider's approach to the murky world of women's boxing, following world champion Lucia Rijker. It was voted best first feature at the Florida Film Festival and was runner-up in the Seattle Festival's documentary section.

Bombo co-chief Doug Schwalbe believes the picture will be able to capitalise on the attention now being focused on the sport after the Sundance success of Girlfight.

Formed by industry veterans Schwalbe and Barr Potter, Bombo is a boutique sales and distribution operation focused on sports film and television. Its feature slate also includes the recently completed King Of The Jungle, directed by Seth Zvi Rosenfeld with an all-star cast including John Leguizamo, Rosie Perez, Michael Rappaport, Annabella Sciorra and Marisa Tomei; Rosenfeld's 1997 effort A Brother's Kiss, again starring Perez and Tomei, and Garret Williams' 1998 Spark.
