Ending months of speculation, Bond producers Eon Productions have christened the spy's 20th instalment Die Another Day.

The film, which now has the acronym DAD, was rumoured to have been named Beyond The Ice and Beneath The Sea. One website reported last year that it was Final Assignment, only to discover the supposedly leaked script was by a fan.

Currently in production, the film kicks off in the demilitarised zone between North and South Korea with a high-speed hovercraft chase. Bond's pursuit of a traitor takes him to Hong Kong, Cuba, London and Iceland before returning to face his main adversary in Korea. The usually dapper spy at one point sports a ragged beard as a prisoner in North Korea.

Die Another Day, Pierce Brosnan's fourth Bond outing, will be released in Britain and the US on November 22. Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike are the Bond girls.

"'Die Another Day carries on the tradition of the Ian Fleming stories and reflects the excitement and mystery of our latest script," said producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
