The number of member countries within the Observatory is now 37.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined the European Audiovisual Observatory, adding a 38th member state to the organisation which specialises in market and legal analyses of the audiovisual industries in Europe.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented within the Observatory’s Executive Council by the director general of communications regulatory agency, Kemal Husienovic.

The past decade has seen a number of high profile succeses coming out of the state, including Danis Tanovic’s Oscar winner No Man’s Land and Jasmila Zbanic’s Berlin Golden Bear winner Grbavica, while the Sarajevo Film Festival remains one of the premier festivals in Europe.
