The Bourne Supremacy grossed $6.7m from 2,284 sites in 23 territoriesover the weekend for Universal/UIP, bringing its international total to date to$54m.

The thriller sequel openedsecond in Spain after local smash Mar Adentro with a $1.9m gross from 356 sites, a 2% increase inlocal currency on The Bourne Identity in 2002 but a 26% increase in US dollars.

The film also opened inSweden ($0.34m at 38 sites), Greece ($0.34m at 36 sites) and Portugal ($0.24mon 50 screens). Strongest holdover territory was France where the film took$1.6m from 464 sites in its second week for a $5.1m total in the territory.

Bourne still has 29 territories to open including Braziland Italy next weekend, Germany on Oct 21 and Japan on Feb 5.

Other Universal films stillin the marketplace were The Chronicles Of Riddick which took $1.1m in 18 territories for aninternational total of $51.4m ($37.2m from Universal territories), Thunderbirds which opened in Australia on $0.32m from 165 sitesto bring its international total to $19.15m and Van Helsing which took a further $1.3m at 486 sites in Japan topbring its international total to $172.4m ($138m from Universal territories).
