Universal’s frat house comedy starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Zac Efron dominated thanks to an estimated $51m debut that blew The Amazing Spider Man 2 into second place in its second session.

Heaven Is For Real at number four stands at $75.32m after four sessions through TriStar.

Two other debutants delivered results that were mediocre at best.

TriStar launched Moms’ Night Out on $4.2m for number seven, while Clarius Entertainment opened the animation Legends Of Oz: Dorothy’s Return in eighth place on $3.7m.

In limited release, Jon Favreau’s Chef debuted through Open Road on $204,000 from six sites for a mighty $34,000 per average.

Next weekend’s wide releases are: Godzilla from Legendary Pictures through Warner Bros and Buena Vista’s Million Dollar Arm.
