White House Down brought in a further $12.6m from 4,140 in 31 for $79.9m, powered by a quartet of number one debuts. The action thriller took $3.1m in Germany from 649, $2m in France from 451, $1.7m in Australia from 318 and $1.5m in Brazil from 358. It opened at number two in Mexico on $1.6m form 871.

The Smurfs 2 grossed $7.3m from 5,450 from 71 and stands at $199.2m. It opened at number one in Sweden on $780,000 from 170. One Direction: This Is Us added $7.6m from 3,320 in 66 for $20.6m. Morgan Spurlock’s documentary opened top in Italy on $2.1m from 350.

Grown Ups 2 grossed $6.7m from 3,250 in 55 for $83m. Two Guns has grossed $3.4m from 11 markets and opened top in Russia on $1.9m from 633.

  • Warner Bros Pictures International’s horror smash The Conjuring grossed $8.5m for more than 3,800 screens in 47 markets for $124.5m and stands at $259.7m worldwide. The film has delivered $15.7m in the UK, $10m in Russia and $8m in Australia.

We’re The Millers added $9.9m from more than 3,400 in 41 for $55.1m.

  • Riddick took $7.4m from 31 markets through Lionsgate International. Now You See Me added $5.1m to reach an even $200m and Red 2 grossed $3.2m for $67.1m.

  • Planes grossed $7m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International to reach a relatively early $41.9m and has grossed $10.8m in the UK. Monsters University stands at $459.4m and The Lone Ranger $154.5m.

  • Despicable Me 2 grossed $3.6m through Universal Pictures International for $475.2m and stands at $31.4m in Russia after 25 days for 1.02bn roubles to become Universal’s second biggest release behind Fast & Furious 6 on 1.07bn roubles. The UK has generated $69.1m after 63 days to rank as the third biggest animation in history.

Jurassic Park 3D added $2.3m for $69.1m and has amassed $52.1m after 20 days in China where it is Universal’s second biggest release behind Fast 6 and Steven Spielberg’s biggest hit.

Kick-Ass 2 stands at $27.3m, R.I.P.D. $33.3m, The World’s End $16.9m. Fast & Furious 6 stands at $ 549.3m.

  • Pain And Gain generated $2.3m through Paramount Pictures International from 1,782 sites in 22 territories for $25m. World War Z stands at $335m and Star Trek Into Darkness $236.6m.
