Iron Man 3 has become Disney’s fifth release to reach $400m in North America after crossing the threshold on Tuesday [18].
The Marvel Studios film has earned more than $1.2bn at the global box office and ranks as the fifth biggest release in history and Disney’s second biggest release behind The Avengers.
As things stand, Iron Man 3 is the sixth biggest film at the international box office on a little over $803m after it overtook Disney stablemate Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
It has crossed the lifetime international gross of The Avengers in China, Finland, Hong Kong, Korea, Russia, Poland, Switzerland, Thailand and Ukraine and ranks as the biggest film of all time in Malaysia and Vietnam.
