Screen casts a glance over the international box office.

Disney/Marvel’s The Avengers ruled internationally for a fourth straight week, amassing $726.4m in the process, while Cannes Competition entries Rust And Bone and Moonrise Kingdom both made their overseas bows with $4.3m from three markets and $1.3m from two markets respectively. Paramount’s The Dictator was the week’s highest new entry in third with $30.9m from its 29 markets and Summit’s The Three Musketeers made a re-appearance in this week’s top ten thanks to a $4.4m debut in China. Michael Hegner’s 3D animation Jelly T (local title Gummi T) opened top in Denmark, defeating The Dictator in the process with a $623,237 debut. Historical drama A Royal Affair is still going strong in its eighth week, dropping just 27% in fifth and has now romanced its way to $6m. For the full Danish chart, click here.

Gaumont’s powerhouse Intouchables went up 18% in its ninth week of release in the Netherlands - where FilmFreak Distribution is releasing - and has taken $5.6m to date and over $330m internationally. Cannes Competition entry The Taste Of Money was the week’s highest new entry in South Korea, grossing $3m in third. Im Sang-Soo’s erotic suspense drama, an “extension” to his 2010 Cannes Competition title The Housemaid, was sandwiched between homegrown efforts All About My Wife ($3.9m for $5.1m) and As One ($1.2m for $10m).
