AUGUST 31 UPDATE: The seemingly indestructible Terminator: Genisys generated $23.6m from 25 markets and climbed to $320.1m and $409.5m worldwide.

UPDATED: The sci-fi action release held on to number one in China as $23.4m boosted the tally after eight days to $82.8m.

Rogue Nation brought in a further $15.3m from 64 territories to reach $309m, while the worldwide tally has reached $479.4m.

The film grossed $2.3m in Japan at number three for $31.9m after four sessions. A pair of number one holds in the third weekend in France and Brazil generated $2.4m for $16.5m and 1.3m for $7.9m, respectively.

Italy has produced $4m after two, the UK $29m after five, Germany $11.1m after four and South Korea $41.1m after five. The film arrives in China on September 8.

ASIA UPDATE

The Hundred Regiments Offensive grossed $16.2m for an $18.7m running total, while Go Away Mr. Tumor added $6.2m for $146.2m. South Korea’s Veteran added $8m for $72m and The Assassination $2.7m for an $81m running total.

UNIVERSAL PICTURES INTERNATIONAL

UPDATED: Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions generated a confirmed $15.5m from 60 territories and delivered the biggest animated debut ever in Italy on $8.2m to claim 77% of local market share.

The international tally reached $695m as Minions surged past the $690m final tally of Ice Age: Dawn Of Dinosaurs to become the third biggest animation internationally behind Frozen on $880m and Ice Age: Continental Drift on $718m.

It also ranks as the third biggest animation worldwide on $1.02bn behind Frozen on $1.28bn and Toy Story 3 on $1.064bn. The film opens in China on September 13.

Jurassic World grossed $4.5m from 35 territories to reach $994.1m and stands at $1.637bn worldwide.

The adventure remained at number one in Japan for the fourth weekend in a row where $3.9m propelled the running total to $57.4m.

Jurassic World is the third highest-grossing film of all time worldwide behind Avatar on $2.8bn and Titanic on $2.2bn and ranks as the fourth biggest international release behind Avatar on $2bn, Titanic on $1.5bn and Fast & Furious 7 on $1.162bn.

Straight Outta Compton stormed to number one in the UK on $3.9m and took $6.4m overall from eight for an early $6.7m. The NWA biopic arrived at number one in Germany on $2.1m.

Trainwreck grossed $2.3m from 36 for $27.6m and $129m worldwide. Amy Schumer’s comedy arrived in the Netherlands on an estimated $221,000, Finland on an estimated $74,000 and Peru on an estimated $81,000.

Spanish drama A Perfect Day starring Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins, which Universal acquired for Spain, opened at number three on $478,000 in 324 sites. Ted 2 stands at $109.1m following a $9.3m haul from 33 that included a $4.7m number two debut in Japan.

FOX INTERNATIONAL

UPDATED: Hitman: Agent 47 grossed $13.9m from 61 markets to reach $25.9m. The action film arrived in 38 markets, debuting at number two in France on $2m, number three in the UK on $1.5m, $879,000 in the UAE and number three in Germany on $778,000. It held at number one in Malaysia on $670,000 for $2.3m.

Fantastic Four added $6.6m from 73 for a disappointing $93.9m running total. The bright spot was a terrific $2.1m number one hold in Venezuela for $6.8m. It debuted in Belgium on $278,000.

Paper Towns added $1.9m from 23 for a solid $46.8m and stands at $5.1m in the UK after two sessions.

Chilean smash The 33 grossed $2.2m six markets for $6.7m and opened at number three in Mexico on $1.4m and arrived at number six in Argentina on $179,000. Chile produced $421,000 in the fourth weekend to hold firm at number one and reach $4.4m. It ranks as the second biggest local release behind Stefan Vs Kramer and Fox’s seventh of all time.

El Clan from Fox International Productions stayed top in its third weekend in Argentina as $2.1m boosted the running total to $11.7m – the biggest third session for a local production in industry and Fox annals and the fourth biggest third weekend overall.

The Bride Wars remake fell dramatically in its second session in China, adding $389,000 for $26.9m.

WALT DISNEY STUDIOS MOTION PICTURES INTERNATIONAL

Pixar’s Inside Out brought in a further $10.9m from 35 territories in its 11th weekend to boost the running total to $371.1m from approximately 84% of the international arena and $715.6m worldwide.

The film has reached $52.4m in the UK, $32.7m in South Korea, $31.1m in Mexico, $30.9m in Japan, $27.1m in France and $32.1m in Australia.

Inside-Out opened across Scandinavia and posted the biggest non-sequel launch for a Pixar film in Denmark, while in Singapore it delivered the second biggest Disney-Pixar animation debut.

Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man stands at the cusp of $200m after adding an estimated $1.5m from 34 territories in its seventh weekend to reach $199.8m and $368.9m worldwide.

After opening in approximately 65% of the international arena the film stands at $24.9m in the UK, $15m in Mexico, $13.1m in France, $12.6m in Brazil and $11.4m in Russia and Australia.

WARNER BROS PICTURES INTERNATIONAL

UPDATED: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. grossed $5.8m from 46 markets for $36.9m. The spy thriller opened in Argentina on $194,000 and added $1m in the UK for $7.8m after three sessions.

Also in the third weekend, U.N.C.L.E. added $807,000 for $7.5m in Russia, $347,000 for $2.8m in Australia, $247,000 for $2.2m in Spain and $174,000 for $1.7m in Germany.

It opens this week in Italy, Brazil and Mexico.

Vacation took a further $6.7m from 49 as the tally climbed to $26.6m, ranking number one in Russia where it debuted on $1.8m.

After two sessions Australia has amassed $2.3m, France $1.5m, the UK $2.1m, Spain $1.4m and Germany $1.2m. Mexico has generated $4m after three weekends.

SONY PICTURES RELEASING INTERNATIONAL

UPDATED: Pixels has become the biggest Adam Sandler film internationally and his seventh to cross $100m as $5.6m from 80 markets propelled the running total to $115.5m.

The action comedy stands at $9.7m in the UK after three weekends and $8.7m in Germany after five. Pixels opened top in the Philippines on $993,000 and held on to number one in Hong Kong where it has mustered $1.7m after two.

Mexico remains the lead market on $11.9m, then the UK on $9.6m, Brazil on $9.5m, Germany on $8.6m, Argentina on $7.4m and Venezuela on $7.2m.
