Paramount stablemate Hercules – whose leading man The Rock surprised Hall H attendees with a flying visit on Thursday opening day at Comic-Con (24) – opens day-and-date with North America in 19 territories. These include the UK, Russia and Australia.

However the one that could really trouble T4 is Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Fox International’s action sequel has raced to $110.1m and this could be the weekend it assumes the box office crown, given that it arrives in around 10 mostly Latin and central American territories, among them Mexico and Brazil.

DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon 2 opens in Germany and Austria and has amassed $229m.

The Fault In Our Stars has grossed $129m and opens in Taiwan. X-Men: Days Of Future Past stands at $508m.

Warner Bros Pictures International’s Godzilla has amassed $292.1m and opens this weekend in Japan through Toho in what could be a momentous event.

Edge Of Tomorrow stands at $262.7m, while Blended has grossed $62m.

Sony Pictures Releasing International’s 22 Jump Street stands at $90.3m and opens in several markets this weekend including Italy.

Deliver Us From Evil has taken $6.5m and Sex Tape, which opens in Russia and Spain, stands at $3.8m.

Maleficent has taken $475.5m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International. Planes: Fire & Rescue opens in six including France and Hong Kong and stands at an early $14.2m.
