'The Secret Life Of Pets' ventures into Brazil

Illumination Entertainment’s animation has raced to $344.4m via Universal Pictures International and studio executives will expect another strong weekend.

The Secret Life Of Pets debuts in a further five territories led by family-friendly Brazil this session, where it is expected to deliver a strong debut.

Jason Bourne has grossed $160m and arrives in China and Mexico this weekend, while Laika Entertainment’s animation Kubo And The Two Strings on an early $1.3m opens in seven, including Spain.

The Purge: Election Year stands at $24m and opens in the UK, where Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping also debuts.

Central Intelligence has grossed $83.7m and debuts in France and Venezuela.

Warner Bros Pictures International’s Suicide Squad had amassed $313m by Sunday.

Disney-Pixar’s Finding Dory stands at $441.9m and glides into Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International this weekend.

Pete’s Dragon on an early $17.6m ventures into Germany, Austria, Thailand and several other territories this weekend.

The BFG has grossed $39.7m so far. The Jungle Book stands at $594.2m and Alice Through The Looking Glass $217.8m.

Blue Sky’s Ice Age: Collision Course on $255.7m arrives in China and Italy this weekend, while Mechanic: Resurrection opens day-and-date with North America in the high-piracy market of Russia.

Fox International’s Absolutely Fabulous stands at $29.5m and arrives in Singapore and Estonia this weekend. Juego De Heroes opens in Mexico and Cuerpo De Elite in Spain.

Independence Day: Resurgence has amassed $281.1m and comedy Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates has grossed $19.5m.

Paramount Pictures International executives reported that Star Trek Beyond has amassed $87.5m so far, while Ben-Hur has taken an early $13.8m.

The epic remake, which MGM reportedly committed to 80% of a reported $100m production budget, debuted poorly in North America last weekend and all eyes will be on whether it can recoup from international territories.
