Thor: The Dark World is expected to extend its domination to a third consecutive weekend when it will soar past the $325m mark.

To date Asgard’s finest has amassed more than $274.4m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International and has overtaken the $268m lifetime gross of the 2011 original. Thor 2 arrives this weekend in Argentina, Paraguay and Hungary. Disney’s family animation Planes stands at $130m.

Gravity has pulled in $254.6m through Warner Bros Pictures International and opens in China next week. The comedy We’re the Millers stands at $116.6m.

Sony Pictures Releasing International’s Captain Phillips opens in Germany and eight other markets and has reached $57.5m.

Carrie on $10.1m arrives in Mexico and Russia, while Insidious: Chapter 2 – on $50.3m through SPRI markets only –  opens in a further nine markets.

Quien Mato A Bambi (Who Killed Bambi) opens in Spain. Stalingrad stands at $65.2m from Russia, Ukraine and China.

The Counselor crosses into a further 32 markets this weekend through Fox International including the UK, Mexico, South Korea, Sweden, Argentina and Belgium. Ridley Scott’s crime thriller has amassed $8m.

The Wolverine stands at $284.1m, DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo $192.9m and The Heat $71.1m.

Universal Pictures International launches the buddy comedy Last Vegas in German-speaking Europe and Juan Jose Campanella’s Foosball in Mexico.

Last Vegas also opens in Russia through a Good Universe licensee and has taken $1.9m from the early stages.

Lionsgate International reports that Prisoners has taken $52.4m and arrives this weekend in Spain. Escape Plan has grossed $53.5m.
