The studio, celebrating its 100th anniversary, announced on Tuesday (25) that its films had amassed $1.128bn for the year-to-date, setting a new company record.

The previous high-water mark of $1.127bn was set in 2008 and studio executives, riding high on results for Ted (pictured, $217.8m in North America), Snow White And The Huntsman ($155.1m), The Bourne Legacy ($110.4m), and Dr Seuss’ The Lorax ($214m), said they were looking ahead to four upcoming releases this year.

Still to come are the comedy Pitch Perfect on Sept 28, thriller The Man With The Iron Fists on Nov 2, Judd Apatow comedy This Is 40 and Les Misérables, on Dec 25.
