EXCLUSIVE: Disney’s local-language releases grossed $210.5m overall in 2013, comprising $160.7m from UTV and a further $49.8m from territory-specific titles.

The top films through UTV were Chennai Express (pictured) on $46m, Yew Jawaani Hai Deewani on $42m, Race 2 on $24m, Satyagraha on $11m and Himmatwala on $11m.

Of the non-UTV releases, Corazon De Leon amassed $10.6m and ranked as the sixth biggest film of the year in Argentina, while Zip & Zap And The Marble Gang grossed $7.1m and Tesis Sobre Un Homicidio took $6.2m.

Ritter Rost grossed $4.7m, Hundraaringen Som Klev $3.3m, Violetta L’Evento $2.5m, Mammas Pojkar $2.1m and Dia Dos Namorados $2.1m.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International’s overall performance in the BRIC markets in 2013 delivered $743m.

The pipeline generated $243m in China, $181m in India – $160.7m of which came through UTV – $179m in Russia and $140m in Brazil.
