The Film Agency For Wales has come on board for financial backing of Nocturne, to be shot later this year in South Wales by writer/director Christopher Nurse. Optimum Releasing has already taken UK rights.

The horror film will star Richard Brake (Hannibal Rising) and Patrick Bergin (Sleeping With The Enemy) as a man who stumbles into a secret lost war and must try to save his own life.

Antony Smith's Port Talbot-based Tornado Films is developing a slate of five films including Nocturne.

Smith is also overseeing a slate of 12 projects with Sioned William at Boom Films.

Paul Higgins and Huw Pennalt Jones will executive produce Nocturne.

'At Tornado Films, we pride ourselves on providing high quality programmes that communicate their objectives in a creative and entertaining way. Nocturne is a great example of what we can offer an international film market. This is an extremely commercial film that has the utmost potential,' Smith said.

The Film Agency For Wales is currently supporting seven features with production finance, with another 15 features in development.
