Universal has struck a multi-year output deal giving Brazilian giant TV Globo free TV rights to Universal's current film output, library titles and made-for-television content.

The exclusive deal gives Globo titles including Jurassic Park III, The Mummy Returns and Gladiator. TV shows covered by the deal include classic The Woody Woodpecker Show.

"TV Globo provides an exceptional platform for our product in one of our most important markets," said Chris Philip, vice president Latin America at Universal Television Distribution. TV Globo covers 84% of Brazil with 24-hour broadcasts. "This agreement with Universal supports TV Globo's dedication to providing the very best in entertainment for our viewers," said Luis Erlanger, director, Globo Division of Communication.
