Controversial director Catherine Breillat (pictured) heads out to Portugal this weekend to begin shooting phase two of her latest film, Anatomie d'Enfer.

The film is based on her book Pornocratie and will once again examine the depths of sexual compulsion.

Working with porn star Rocco Siffredi for the second time since her international breakout film Romance, Breillat says the script and the sense of the project have taken on different proportions since she started shooting a few months ago. The story of a man who hates women and for the first time truly discovers them is a kind of "beauty and the beast story, but here the beast is very human and the beauty is somewhat stupid," explains Breillat.

Shooting entirely in studio in Portugal, Breillat is thrilled with the images of the film shot by cinematographer Yorgos Avanitis, who worked with her on Fat Girl. "What he's already shot are some of the most beautiful images I've ever seen on film. Each shot is like a painting."

The film marks the fourth collaboration for Breillat and producer Jean-Francois Lepetit and will be sold by Flach Pyramide. Asked when it will be ready, Breillat says, "To say it will be ready for Cannes makes it sound like we're rushing." Still, the film should wrap in mid-February and will be released in France by Rezo Films.
