The firstBritdoc festival, in association with Nokia, has announced some top documentaryfilm-makers participating in masterclasses and panels.

Thefestival (July 26-28) at Keble College in Oxford will welcome speakersincluding film-makers Albert Maysles, Alex Gibney, Kevin Macdonald, Pawel Pawlikowski, Mike Figgis, Nick Broomfield, and Penny Woolcock. Industryspeakers include Sundance's John Cooper, SXSW's Matt Dentler, Sandra Hebron ofthe London Film Festival, Orlando Bagwell of the Ford Foundation and ChristophJorg of ARTE.

Panel topics will include crossing over between factand fiction, the relationship between news and documentary, making the most ofarchive footage, co-productions, funding opportunities, new distributionoptions, avid editing, and navigating film festivals.

Aspreviously announced, Britdoc will also host Surgeries, one-to-oneconsultations about individual projects with experts including producer JohnSmithson, Films Transit's Barbara Truyen and Metrodome's Tom Grievson.
