The British Society ofCinematographers has announced the 2006 nominations for its best cinematographyaward.

The nominees are Cesar Charlone for TheConstant Gardener, Andrew Dunn for MrsHenderson Presents, John Mathieson for Phantom of the Opera, Wally Pfister for BatmanBegins, and Roger Pratt for HarryPotter and the Goblet of Fire.

In a change from recentyears when September to August releases were eligible,the BSC now nominates films based on a January to December eligibility. Thisyear's award therefore encompasses films screened publicly in the UK from September 2004 to December 2005.

The winner will be announcedat the BSC general meeting on April 9 and the award presented at a dinner onDecember 8.
