Bronfman bids again for Universal
In the latest back-to-the-beginning twist in the Vivendi Universal saga, the Bronfman family which previously owned Universal Pictures through its Seagram drinks conglomerate, has announced its intention to bid for Vivendi's US assets. Edgar Bronfman Jr informed Vivendi chairman Jean-Rene Fourtou that he and his father are assembling a group to bid for the operations which include Universal. The pair have since suspended their participation in Vivendi board decisions.
