As principal photography starts on Brideshead Revisited, Ed Stoppard, Felicity Jones, Jonathan Cake and Greta Scacchi have joined the cast.

The project is shooting for 11 weeks including five weeks at Yorkshire's Castle Howard as well as location shooting in Oxford, London, Venice and Morocco.

Ecosse Films are producing for BBC Films, 2 entertain, the UK Film Council and Miramax Films. Kevin Loader is producing with Ecosse's Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae.

As previously reported, the cast is led by Matthew Goode, Ben Whishaw, Hayley Atwell, Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon.

Julian Jarrold is directing from Andrew Davies and Jeremy Brock's script, adapted from Evelyn Waugh's popular 1945 novel.

Jarrold said: 'Jeremy Brock's screenplay brings out the passion and drama of Waugh's novel, which is the last of the classics never to have been filmed. I'm also delighted with the exceptional British cast we have on board.'

Miramax will distribute in North America and in the UK, through BVI for 2 entertain. Dreamachine is handling worldwide sales.
